"BREATHE' Word itself represents life and much more. When I was in school , I used to participate in various competitions ,so before going to stage I got a little bit nervous at that moment , I used to take a deep breathe. By doing this I could easily speak out on any topic among thousands of people with confidence . Breathing plays an important role in human being life process .
But what if ,the air you breathing is filled with pollution?
The picture which I posted above is a letter 'BREATHE' painted with pollution.
Wait wait wait , What?
Yes ,you must be thinking how that is possible . I mean I was surprised too. This letter is painted with a paint made with pollution .
The air pollution of our country, as we all know how critical it is .

The AIR you breathing is pure , Is it?
Every morning people do yoga to keep themselves healthy but are you sure the air going inside you is fresh and free of pollutants .
My Dadi always says that' ab ye hawa badal gayi hai ' pehle jaise nahi rahi .
And we all know what changed our Air .
We are a developing country with rapidly expanding globalization .
Every state ,every city has its own power generation plants, factories , and many more MNC.

We all know such plants provides electricity to many villages and cities . They use diesel engines for its production. Diesel engine emission issues have always been primarily with nitrogen oxide (NOx) and particulate matter .
Particulate matter is basically soot that results from incomplete burning of diesel fuel , which can happen if the engine isn't getting sufficient oxygen .

Particulate matter is considered a major pollutant , adversely affecting air quality and health .
NOx is damaging vegetation and ozone , and can contribute to respiratory and other illness .
1.7 million people died in India due to air pollution in 2019.
This fumes coming out of engines is very toxic and carcinogenic.
ITS TIME TO INTRODUCE OUR HEROES OF THE STORY
So, while the whole world was facing air pollution problem ,
Our heroes of this story faced the same problem .

These three men were going to change the world for better .
1-ARPIT DHUPAR ( CTO- CHAKR INNOVATION)
Being brought up in the city of Delhi , which is hotspot for air pollution , he was facing respiratory issues . Which produce impacts on lung . At the age of 18 years he was not able to play football due to these issues
2- KUSHAGRA SRIVASTAVA ( CEO -CHAKRA INNOVATION )
Kushagra also faced health issues due to which he was not able to do swimming and play football.
Air pollution has done some major personal impact on their life .
3- PRATEEK SACHAN
All three of them alumni of IIT Delhi .
IDEA

It all started with glass of sugarcane .

Arpit and Kushagra decided to have a sugarcane juice . They were in Gurgaon . Arpit noticed that exhaust of one small engine of sugarcane machine was facing the wall and soot was coming out of the exhaust . The wall soon became black .And the biggest, ecofriendly , unique idea pops in his mind that' why cant we use this soot as a paint' ?
This was the moment when a very useful invention were going to happen which was going to change the air .
CHAKR SHIELD

Chakr Shield is a device which convert diesel soot into ink and paints .
In 2016 they made a prototype. they work hard for 2 years and made a device with capacity of 25KV engine .
WORKING

Heat exchanger cools the exhaust coming out from the generator .
It passed through special contours which capture soot particles in the air.
The main constraint was to develop a capturing mechanism that has no effect on working engine . It took months of trying and testing different mechanisms to develop new technology and fill.

Capturing chamber cool the particulate matter and collect it as big chunks .
Non oxidized carbon is stored in the storage tank.
This collected raw material (soot) converted into inks and paints .
USES
Soot converted to ink and paints used in textile printing ,paper printing, paints. Being made from waste it naturally reduces carbon footprint of ink pigment formation.

As it is pilot stage there has been 30 chakra shields in operation ,across NCR . Installed in telecom industry towers , FMCG Industry plats , real estate companies .
The device have captured over 180 kg of particulate matter , which would have otherwise entered the atmosphere , Polluting 900 billion liters of air .
This device can be used by anyone who uses diesel generators including residential spaces.
Team estimates their patented technology can reduce particulate matter emission from diesel generators by 90%.
Current technology only capture Particulate matter . They are working on the technology so that it can capture pollutants like SOx, NOx etc .
They want to implement their device to other sources of pollution too, like chimneys , boilers and commercial vehicles .
Startup also partnered with BOSCH to aid in production ,commercialization and further development.

ACHEIVEMENTS
Team was chosen as the winners of the university of Chicago urban labs India challenge , 2016.
Awarded for its innovation by the Department of science and technology Government of India and FICCI.
Also received a grant from Indian oil for new technology development.
